The  relation between the past and the present as a reinterpretation of the  existing, evokes a new meaning for the place, so that the new perceptions,  created from the diverse times that coexist in the space, become able to  construct other memories. The intervention is inserted in the cathedral of  Notre Dame as a historical affirmation of the present, marked by form and  materiality, which, although different from the rest of the patrimony, still  maintains a visual continuity.
   The structure of the project was based on fractal geometry, whose rules  were inspired by the growth of the cypress-Mediterranean and the branching of  its leaves. The choice of the species was for its resistance to the flames,  creating a poetic relation with the resistance of the Cathedral to have  endured two great wars and recently, a fire. The structure does not have  closures, allowing a differentiated lighting work, in which the internal  luminaires are directed to the highest part of the tower, thus forming,  another light landmark for the city of lights, being able to produce a new  reading from of a known image of the city.
   The new cover with structure in steel and wood was developed from a  deformation derived from gravity. Its curvature was reached using generative  technological resources, with applications similar to those of Galdi and Frei  Otto, but with the use of digital tools. The use of flat tiles in its closure  allows to couple small photovoltaic panels for capturing solar energy that  could be used in the night lighting of the cathedral.
   In the project, the steeple is tall and robust, with a height of 65m,  however, it does not have closures or cover, occupying a space much more  symbolic than concrete, as part of the scenario that constitutes a new symbol  that is intertwined with the old, in a relation of construction of the  identity process with the intervention, like another space sheltered by the  collective memory. The steeple stands metaphorically as a protector who  protects something that only exists in the immaterial field of memory, such  as the part of the Cathedral that collapsed.
   The cathedral ceiling was leveled and widened in the region below the  fractal geometric cover, so that space could be used as a place of revival of  the memory of Notre Dame, as a museum. It can house information of the old  central bell tower and the history of this symbol of Paris, as another way to  legitimize this space as part of the memory of the city in a timeless  process.
