In the world we live in, the path is not certain. There is the unknown that fills us all with anxiety and uncertainty, but there is still hope. The future might be unclear right now but connecting with nature is an experience that helps with the restorative process in overcoming the painful impact of loss during these troubling times. Us humans, all feel that strange pull to the outdoors to nourish our hearts and minds with the natural beauty of nature when we feel the weight of the world is upon our shoulders. The design of the Roots of Hope memorial is meant to symbolize remembrance, growth, and reflective hope. Distanced from the hustle and bustle taking over your emotions, you enter into a path that eventually leads you to reconnect with your loved ones in Central Park, New York. Losing a loved one, without saying one last goodbye is one of the most difficult ordeals that we are expected to face in our lifetimes.

There is no way to really brace oneself for the actual loss of life, or the ensuing grief; however, many find that spending time in nature can greatly help ease the grief felt, help center the body and mind, eventually bringing out the strength of humans. The design consists of glass panels in a circulating rotation that carries names of those who were lost engraved on them. As you look at the names, you see a path that reconnects you with your loved ones. Each name that is reflected, represents the grief of families today and carries the gravity of their loss to future generations. The Roots of Hope memorial is an unforgettable reflection of the cycle of life, and a long-lasting tribute to the lives well lived.
