French Gothic as a manifestation of social changes and the related development of technical possibilities and innovative features of Gothic structures are the axis of interpretation in the work of Dieter Kimpel and Robert Suckale. The role of Abbot Suger, both in the administration of the Monastery of St. Denis as well as the mentor of the three French kings, is significant because of his writing "De consecratione," which is an important source for learning the spiritual basis of the origin of French Gothic architecture and temple furnishings. The great Gothic cathedrals began to be built and were built in the second half of the 12th century and in the first decades of the 13th century – for example, Notre-Dame Cathedral in Laon, Chartres Cathedral or Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. During the reign of the "most Christian" French king, St. Louis IX. and his mother Blanca from Castilian, there is a great development in France, during which the great masters of French architecture (Pierre de Montreuil, Jean de Chelles, Jean ď Orbais) worked and constructed, and French art has great influence in many countries on the European continent (Leon Cathedral, England - Westminster Abbey, San Lorenzo in Naples, Cologne Cathedral, etc.). After the unpleasant event of April 15, 2019, I sent a letter to the President of France, H.E. Emmanuel Macron, in which I expressed my compassion for the tragic event and readiness with my knowledge and international experience to contribute to the rapid and successful reconstruction of the cathedral. I received an answer with gratitude and information that the final solution for the new shape of the cathedral will be sought through an international competition. In our solution to the design for the reconstruction of the Notre-Dame, we decided to choose the dominant symbol of the Pine Cone, which is an important symbol in the Vatican (i.e., the Court of the Pine Cone). Since ancient times, the Pine Cone was used as an important symbol - it can be seen on the reliefs of the Sumerian god Marduk (who holds a Pine Cone in a hand) or by Dionysius (who holds a scepter with a Pine Cone). It is also a symbol of the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. The Catholic Church took over this symbol, and we meet pine cones in churches in the form of lamps. These objects thus perfectly connect the abstract meaning of the Pine Cone (enlightenment) to the particular material form of light. The majestic pine tree is one of the oldest species on earth, and it is also one of the toughest trees. The Pine Cone is an ancestor of flora in terms of evolution. Thousands of petals create a breathtaking, perfectly arranged spiral. The third eye (which is symbolized with the pine cone) is also considered to be the center of the soul. The Pine Cone itself is a symbol of happiness, strength, fertility, long life and immortality. The reconstructed premises of the Cathedral shall serve as concert hall for music events, at the same time they may be an art gallery. The new roof structure itself will be made of steel sub-structure, with r.c./steel slab deck with glassy and green islands. Roof covering shall be with aluminum and glass plates serving at the same time as photovoltaic collectors.
