We believe that architecture and design play a significant role in the development of a city and in shaping our lives. This competition provided us with the opportunity to challenge the pace of technological advancement by fast tracking the use of high-tech energy solutions with a simple and sustainable architectural intervention.
As our lives become more digitised, with various ‘conveniences’ at the touch of our smartphones, we wanted to place greater emphasis on personal physical, spatial and human connections. Our proposal does more than respond to the technological shift, it addresses place making by creating a sense of belonging and community, in the midst of a fast paced and transient society.
